Painful Wisdom tooth
Sometimes a wisdom tooth (the tooth in the very back of your mouth) can’t grow in all the way and may get stuck (impacted). When this happens an infection can occur. The only solution is to have the tooth removed by a dentist.
For short term pain relief warm salt water rinses (8 oz warm water and 1/2 tsp salt) every couple of hours will help draw out the inflammation and Advil / Tylenol for pain relief is helpful. Often antibiotics are needed to prevent a serious infection as well.
